Preview: Audi Convertibles at Techno Classica

The Audi Tradition exhibit at this year’s Techno Classica in Essen centers around convertibles and roadsters. The world’s biggest classic car show provides the perfect stage for eight automotive treasures from Audi’s history from Wednesday, April 15 to Sunday, April 19. The theme of the exhibit from Ingolstadt is “Nach oben offen” (“The sky’s the limit”) – and is rounded out by three NSU racing motorcycles and an NSU “Renndienst” racing service bus.

Audi Shows Real Champions at the Techno Classica

Audi Tradition has assembled a true winning team of race and rally vehicles for this year’s Techno Classica in Essen, Germany, the world’s largest oldtimer show. From March 26 to 30, 2014 the company will have four generations of successful race and rally cars on display, including the Auto Union Type A Silver Arrow from 1934 and the Audi Type C Alpine Rally winner. Also on the stand in Essen is the Audi Rallye quattro A2 that Stig Blomqvist drove to victory in the drivers’ and manufacturers’ rally championships 30 years ago. Other exhibits that have contributed to the company’s motor sport heritage are the R8R Le Mans race car used for Audi’s debut on the Sarthe circuit in 1999, and the winner of the 2013 event, the Audi R18 e-tron quattro. Ewald Kluge’s Greatest Victory

Every year in the first week of June this small island in the Irish Sea is transformed into a place that motorcycle fans simply must visit. The Tourist Trophy, the toughest motorcycle race in the world, has been held on the Isle of Man since 1907. For 30 years only British riders on British machines won this race, but 75 years ago Ewald Kluge became the first German to break the spell. In his memory, Audi Tradition is taking part in the Classic TT on the Isle of Man from August 23 to 26.

“Forever Young” Calendar from Audi Tradition

The 2013 wall calendar from Audi Tradition has arrived! Under the slogan “Forever Young”, it features twelve vehicles from recent chapters in the history of Audi. Automotive photographer Stefan Warter was responsible for the lavish studio shots of the classic cars, which were all built between the 1960s and the 1990s. An individual background was created for each image, with designs by artist Kristina Redeker.

Audi Tradition fielded two DKW Monzas and a DKW F91 on the tour, from May 17 beginning in Brescia and two days later, came to a finish. Walter Röhrl to Climb Pikes Peak Again

25 years after Walter Röhrl drifted up Pikes Peak in the Audi Sport quattro S1 and set a record that still stands today, the two greats will be reuniting in 2012. On July 8, Röhrl will be driving in the famous hill climb, also known as the Race to the Clouds, for the second time. Spectators in the U.S. state of Colorado will be able to relive a milestone in the history of Audi Sport when the Rally Driver of the Century takes the wheel of the original Audi Sport quattro S1. Beginning today, Audi Tradition is providing a foretaste of the famous hill climb at Techno Classica, the world’s largest trade show for classic cars, in Essen.
