Audi RS power met Audi e-tron ingenuity at the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed, which ran from June 29 through July 1. The all-new 450PS RS 4 Avant was just one of eight important UK new models to debut at the annual Sussex-based celebration of motoring and motorsport, and just one of seven RS models on the Audi stand. Their combined output of 2,695PS was in complete contrast to another star of the show – the tiny Audi Urban concept with its two electric motors developing 20PS. Two Audi factory drivers welcomed the journalists invited to the presentation of the Audi R8 GT Spyder for the British market. Allan McNish, winner of the Sebring 12 Hours in March, accompanied the event from Monday to Wednesday. Audi UK has confirmed that the ultra-exclusive 256PS A1 quattro will be priced at £41,020 OTR when an extremely limited quota of just nineteen UK-bound, left-hand-drive examples officially becomes available to order in early March. UK Audi Centres already have deposits for the vast majority of these exceptional high performance subcompacts, which are not only unique in featuring quattro all-wheel-drive, a larger capacity 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine and rally-inspired styling, but also an all-encompassing specification including equipment upgrades to the value of over £11,000.
