Just when we thought German interior tailor and carbon fiber part source Neidfaktor had customized an Audi RS 6 about as much as that might be possible, the team from Hamburg seems to have re-set the bar. We’ve received this latest set of photos from the firm, highlighting what they call their Audi RS 6 Vintage Project.

Driven: 2016 Audi S6 Sedan (Europe)

When it comes to performance Audis, we consider the S6 and its lineage to remain the brand’s “true north”. Over the years, things like consumer tastes change. Badges move to new nomenclature, supercars get launched and are subsequentally driven by super heroes, Avants become passé to some, while 4-door coupés prove lower slung and more sultry. Even through all of this, the S6 sedan remains, steadfast in its mission of bringing supercar challenging pace to the ever present form of a four door executive sedan. It is the model by which audi can measure its direction as readily as that little engraved “N” on your compass will help you find your way in a dense forest. More…

Ridiculous power, widebody form, quattro all-wheel drive and racing stripes. These all add up to a pretty spectacular choice for our latest Fourtitude ‘Find of the Day’. Such is the case then for this 760 bhp 1990 S2 coupe hailing from the UK.

We’re admitted fans of photoshop illustrators like X-Tomi Design. Peruse their website and you’ll find oodles of cool renders of versions of cars that never were. Some are enlightening and amazing. Others, well, we have to think everybody’s gonna have a day of experimentation (says the website that led the day with a Taylor Swift video).

Audi A2 as Film Set for Taylor Swift BBC Radio 1 ‘Blank Space’ Short

In case you’re not up on your pop culture, pop music dominatrix Taylor Swift has a new album out called 1989 and, like her head explodingly catchy song ‘Shake it Off’, takes on the stereotype of being boy crazy. That perceived insanity may be brilliance though, in the level of self awareness of her public persona exemplified on her latest hit single ‘Blank Space’ is anything to go by. That last single is the one that’s getting all the airplay right now, and as such BBC Radio 1 personality Greg James had Swift recently filmed a YouTube short of himself and Swift rolling around London in an Audi A2 lip syncing the song.

We’ll be honest, we’ve been lucky over the years to drive some pretty insane cars. From the latest RS-models to prototype test mules and even concept cars, Audi has been most generous to us in allowing us to get behind the wheel of some ridiculous cars. Then again, we think all of this might pail in comparison when it comes to Jason Harper who recently got to do some laps at Misano in the 2014 spec Le Mans winning Audi R18 e-tron quattro #2.

This week, Audi is pulling the wraps off of its updated A6 and A7 range at the Los Angeles Auto Show. While these cars may appear to be benefitting solely from a mild cosmetic mid-lifecycle freshening, we recently went to Germany in order to take a look. What we learned there, and while driving this Audi A6 2.0 TFSI, is that the updates are more than just skin deep. More…
