Frictional Losses: Looking back at the 2015 Rolex 24 at Daytona

Last year the Flying Lizard Audi R8 LMS was stripped of a win after a controversial decision reversal which saw the Level 5 Ferrari take the win in the fiercely contested GTD class. This year it was the turn of the Wayne Taylor Corvette Team to incur the wrath of the organizers when its DP car was sent from 3rd to last in class. Ironic as it seems, Jordan Taylor spent a few ticks too many of the Rolex clock in the car despite a literal last minute effort to right the wrong. Ganassi won again with their Ford Eco Boost entry gaining themselves a record 6th overall win at the twice-around-the-clock classic. To be truthful, as a class that I do not really follow, this didn’t mean a whole lot to me despite the plaudits that the team certainly earned.
