Though it’s been going on officially or unofficially for over a week, today marks the official opening of the Audi presence as well as other official displays from Volkswagen Group siblings, SEAT, Skoda and Volkswagen. Audi friend Manfred from the Austrian-based audi4ever.com was able to return to the center of Reifnitz in order to grab more photos of the official Audi presence.

We’re now less than a day away from the official opening of Wörthersee and thus the official unveiling of the Audi TT ultra quattro concept as well as public viewing of the official Audi stand. That’s not to say super fans don’t show early though and last week’s laid back attendance is a good example. Another example is that of German Audi blog audi4ever who managed to get into the section of Reifnitz housing the Audi stand in order to nab some photos and video of the much anticipated lightweight TT design study.

The official date of opening for the Worthersee show is tomorrow and, as a result, Audi has begun its push of assets surrounding the show in a big way. First and most importantly must certainly be the TT ultra quattro concept – a super lightweight and hardcore version of the TT coupe. Officially, the Worthersee tour begins next week. This enthusiast exposition in Austria is the largest of its kind and that’s when you’ll see a huge mass of attendees and an official presence by Audi and some of its Volkswagen Group brandmates. The week before… it’s more laid back and a time for the serious connoisseurs to roll into town without all of the burnouts and craziness that make up the actual show week. While we’ll have feet on the ground next week, we’ve enlisted a few of our friends who are veterans of the event to help tell the story of this pre-week.

Earlier this week we published an initial report from the reveal of the Audi A3 and S3 sedan reveals at New York’s Chelsea Piers. Audi chose this week to pull the covers from the car in the Big Apple largely due to the timing coinciding with the opening of the New York Auto Show. Unfortunately for those attending the event at the Jacob Javits Convention Center, these new offerings weren’t on display. Even still, that didn’t stop Audi from loading out their stand with many new models to see and enjoy.

We’ve acquired a collection of photos from Audi Sport customer racing showing off production of the Audi R8 LMS ultra. This facility, located in Neckarsulm, has produced the Audi R8 LMS since it was first launched and, until the project was recently frozen, it was also assembling preproduction Audi R8 e-tron units.
