One of our favorite purveyors of coolly designed T-shirts and such are Maryland-based 8380 Laboratories. Designs like their latest König S1 Unbesiegt celebrating Audi’s 1987 Pike’s Peak victory prove why. More…
It’s the kind of pairing nearly any rally fan could only dream of orchestrating. EVO Magazine has just published (online) a head-to-head comparo between the legnedary Audi ur quattro and the Lancia Stratos – two rallying legends of their time that couldn’t be more opposite. More…
It’s not like RS2 Avants are unheard of in America. We’ve seen them before, from a mysterious pearl white example registered in western Pennsylvania to one or two that have made their way into Canada. Even still, these ur-RS cars from Audi that were actually built and apparently stylized by Porsche (not quattro GmbH) were never sold in America. They’re also not on the NHTSA list of importable vehicles either, which makes them damn near unobtainium. So, when one shows up as one did before our eyes this past weekend at a Porsche Club Swapmeet in Pennsylvania, it was a newsworthy event. More…
Just as Audi was re-entering the market from its post-war slumber, an idea was hatched to grow the appeal of the then-new 100 LS (C1) through a drop top Cabriolet. Osnabruck-based Karmann Coachworks had its own business already with Volkswagen, building special models like the Karmann Ghia though this would have marked new space for Audi. More…

Audi Tradition is celebrating not one but two anniversaries at the Techno Classica in Essen (April 10 to 14). In Hall 7 of the world’s largest classic car fair, the brand with the four-ring emblem is displaying examples from the history of its V8 engines. 80 years have elapsed since Audi’s associate company Horch exhibited the new 830 model at the Berlin Motor Show, powered by that company’s first V8 engine. 25 years later the Audi V8 went into production and represented a milestone in Audi’s history – access to the premium segment of the market. A green light for the start of the event season: in 2013 Audi Tradition will be present at more than 30 international events, including several anniversaries. At the Goodwood Festival of Speed, for example, Hannu Mikkola will take the wheel of an original Audi Rally quattro. In 1983, thirty years previously, he was the first driver to win the world rally championship in an Audi. 75 years have elapsed since Ewald Kluge became the first German winner of the world’s most difficult, hazardous motorcycle race, the Tourist Trophy (TT) on the Isle of Man on a 250 cc DKW. Audi Tradition will therefore be participating for the first time in the Classic TT held in August, which attracts motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the world to the island in the Irish Sea. More…

Audi Tradition is fond of the British magazine as well, and you’ll find several exclusive Audi-focused highlights throughout the year. Case in point is one in the latest issue whereby Le Mans winner Andre Lotterer takes to the wheel of a Group B Audi Sport quattro rally car. More…

What if you found one with about 17,000 miles on it that looked practically the same as the day it rolled off the showroom floor. What would you pay? $22,000? More…
