One of the best facets of the summer season for many Audi owners is the sheer number of shows, events and get-togethers where like-minded enthusiasts can congregate and talk shop. Throughout the summer season we’ve attended many such events and have had the pleasure of doing so in our Audi Exclusive Suzuka Grey 2010 S4.
For those of us in our East Coast offices, the show and event season officially begins in early spring with a 14 hour jaunt down to Sebring, Florida for the ALMS’ 12 Hours of Sebring. While in Florida we typically park our Audi at the Audi Club of North America’s corral and take in Ingolstad’ts diesel racecars rounding the many-textured tarmac of that fabled racetrack. Unfortunately Audi was unable to compete this year, blocked by Peugeot from running their 2009 R15 TDI, so we skipped out on the severely long trip and gratuitous visit to South Carolina’s I-95 icon South of the Border.

Our season may have begun later but it was still chock full of a fantastic array of events. By May and the Carlisle Import Kit/Replica show in Carlisle, PA we’d taken delivery of our S4 and had a chance to log some mileage. We’d also had a chance to tailor it a bit more to our liking through the addition of carbon-fiber inlayed ‘Supercharger’ badges as seen on Silver Optics package from Audi Accessories and with a set of Audi-sourced 19-inch hollow-spoke Cortada alloy wheels manufactured by BBS. The look of those black gloss alloys with their machined rotor blades really accented our car’s black optics (now Titanium Package) look and was well received both at Carlisle and our Four Ring Breakfast hosted that weekend by nearby Audi Mechanicsburg.

By July it was time for the biggest enthusiast event of the summer, known as Waterfest. This time we headed for Englishtown, NJ fresh with a few modifications such as black-painted valance and an exhaust system from APR (more on these later). Modifications installed we headed off for a fine summer weekend with 25,000 of our closest Audi and Volkswagen enthusiast buddies.
A few more events mixed in throughout the summer. Dubs on the Delaware took us to a beautiful spot in the Poconos while other random dyno days such as those at AWE Tuning or NGP Tuning, Audi Club events and unofficial cars & coffee meets continued to win over attendees with special-painted S4.

Then in September we went to the grand finale where H20i closes out the season just outside of Ocean City, Maryland. Cruising the strip and hanging out with other four ring nutters in OC is as much fun as walking the many aisles of primped show cars on show day. It may have been a bit cold for the beach but we ogled enough beautiful cars to keep us warm all winter. Even better, the fine staff from APR was kind enough to flash their new ECU upgrade onto our S4 before we hit the road for home. Again, there’s more to come on that later.
Throughout the summer the car ran flawlessly. We’ve got a 15K service coming up soon and we’ll have a few things addressed such as squeaky brakes. However, other than this nuisance we have nothing but praise for our very, very potent Audi 4-door.
