As expected, Audi of America showed off its range of new diesel models yesterday on the first day of press days at the 2012 Los Angeles Motor Show. 3.0 TDI-powered versions of the A6, A7, A8 and Q5 will now join the Audi Q7 (with engine updates) and A3 TDI in the company’s North American lineup.
A gallery of photos from the Audi stand can be found attached to this article (to the right and at the bottom). Also, find the official Audi announcement regarding these new diesel-powered models HERE.
Finally, as a way to engage the social media universe, a centerpiece of the Audi stand was also a giant screen with a hashtag-based feed that uploaded select posts from Twitter, Instagram and more that utilized the hashtag #FuelForThought. Utilizing a new site that tracks hashtags called TagBoard, you can see everything from ‘featured’ posts that made it to Audi’s booth display and also the unfiltered version where posts like @svhughes spoofting and posting ‘Go Toyota! #fuelforthought’ didn’t quite make it through. Certainly it is an entertaining and creative way to promote Audi’s reassertion that clean diesel is a force to be reckoned with.
