Audi Announces A5 DTM selection Limited-Edition

There’s no doubt that the B8.5-generation Audi range is coming to a close. In product planning speak, this means the gloves come off and plenty of features get thrown into final edition models. Case in point is the latest A5 DTM selection, with plenty of interesting details in addition to a plethora of decals.

Okay, so critics may argue too many decals. Here’s the great thing about decals though. They’re easily removed. Stickered up or not, the A5 DTM selection offers a great-looking package be it the more aggressive chin, 20-inch split 5-spoke wheels in the same design as the RS 6, or a seriously well appointed interior complete with color-matched stitching and shellback seats.

As far as DTM branding goes, this is the third Audi to tie-in with the German touring car series of which Audi has been a part for years. First was a B7-based Audi A4, then an A5 DTM Champion package earlier in the B8.5 cycle when Mike Rockenfeller won the series championship in 2013. This final version is likely the most extensive, and adds the “selection” terminology that seems to be in fashion amongst the Audi product planning teams.

The DTM selection is a European market thing. For Americans interested in the kit, this means you’ll have to source the parts on your own. That said, there’s a thick portfolio of unique parts from this car that may be of interest to you.
