Australia – Audi Australia Pty Ltd has added serious star power to its brand ambassador program, announcing Australian actor Chris Hemsworth as its newest film ambassador.
Together with Audi, the acclaimed and globally popular actor will co-host an exclusive screening of Hemsworth’s upcoming epic action adventure In the Heart of the Sea at the Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park, Sydney, on November 17, 2015, to benefit the Australian Childhood Foundation. Directed by Oscar winner Ron Howard, the film chronicles the true story of the 1820 sea voyage of the whaling ship Essex and the hunt for a mammoth whale that inspired the legend Moby Dick.
Audi Australia’s Managing Director, Andrew Doyle, said the brand has long-term relationships with the film industry around the world and hosts exclusive Audi Film events each year in Australia. Its partnership with Chris Hemsworth exemplifies the brand’s love of film and commitment to Australian artists.
“Not only is Chris one of our most successful and talented acting exports, he’s a laidback Australian family man who epitomises the true essence of Audi style and sophistication,” Mr Doyle said.

Hemsworth is a longtime advocate and patron of the nationwide non-profit organization, which has been committed to providing programs, counseling and resources to support children and families devastated by abuse, family violence and neglect for nearly three decades.
The Australian Childhood Foundation’s CEO Dr Joe Tucci extended his gratitude to Audi for supporting their fundraising efforts.
“Along with the support of our patron Chris Hemsworth, we hope Audi’s private gala screening and reception for In The Heart Of The Sea will raise enough funds for the Australian Childhood Foundation to assist with the development of a Sydney Trauma Recovery Centre for Children,” Mr Tucci said.

Ron Howard directed In the Heart of the Sea from a screenplay by Charles Leavitt, story by Charles Leavitt and Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver, based on the book In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex by Nathaniel Philbrick, winner of the 2000 National Book Award for Nonfiction. The film is produced by Joe Roth, Paula Weinstein, Will Ward, Brian Grazer and Ron Howard.
