Our friend Romain Drapri has published several more photos of that Daytona Grey matte RS 6 displayed in Monaco last weekend. On site as part of the RS 5 Cabriolet rollout, this car revealed even more trim detail about the RS 6.
With matte paint, the Monaco example is no doubt exemplary of a special build by Audi Exclusive, but the specialness of the car doesn’t just end at the paint. We also spy several carbon fiber components on the car including rearview mirrors, rear splitter, chin splitter and lower grille frame surrounding the quattro script.
Press photos revealed the quattro script and lower frame surround as silver, though further marketing photos also released of the car show neither element. This leads us to conclude that the component is an option, while clearly the carbon fiber version is an added box on the options list.
Another detail revealed by quattro GmbH at the Monaco RS 5 launch was that four launches of RS-cars are planned for this year. Such a move would make this the most aggressive year to date for Audi’s performance subsidiary.
To make the point of their four launches, staff on hand presented a slide depicting the RS 5 Cabriolet and three other cars under covers. No doubt one of these will be the RS 6, but the others that look an awful lot like an RS Q3 and the shape of an A1 (RS 1?) leave us a bit confused. If the RS 6 is about to launch, then the RS 7 should be near launch as well and could turn up as early as Detroit in January. However, if the profile of an RS 1 is accurate then our count is five new RS cars.
Time will tell. In the meantime, enjoy these photos either at the Romain Drapri Photography Flickr page in high resolution or also now in our own RS 6 photo gallery.
