Our unofficial spirit of SEMA Show award has to go to Rilber Li and his widebody B8 Audi A4 Avant. So often at SEMA we get caught up in buckets of new parts being bolted onto the latest models for corporate promotional purposes. This car isn’t exactly exception to that, but it’s also enthusiast owned, designed and promoted for the love of the modding game.
No, there’s no association with Liberty Walk here. Perhaps as a goof on his own widebody status, Rilber chose a play on words when he posts about his A4 Avant on Instagram. As North American marketing director for iAcrophobia covering the Car scene in China (and also owner of this high-visibility Avant), Rilber’s a bit of a known quantity in the scene. That he very readily and quickly got us a full list of mods for this incredible car speaks to his enthusiasm. It is the reason this story, in particular, is just so detailed.
Regular readers of this site may notice that they’ve seen this car before. We’ve featured it before in a video by AccuAir when it rolled on pink wheels. It’s had a few updates since then, and since we’ve never really highlighted it in full detail, we’ll share that with you now thanks to Rilber’s willingness to share his vast build list.
The widebody itself is no kit. The Avant features custom metal work on the quarter panels. These have been paired with several body kit pieces from Caractere, including front bumper (B8), rear diffusor (B8.5), and roof spoiler (B8). It’s also got an ENLAES EB8X carbon side skirt, a custom front lip, RS 4 mesh grille, OEM Euro headlights and RS 4 taillights.
The air suspension is by AccuAir of course, and specifically is their B8 Sport Kit. This configuration is built around Bilstein shocks at the rear.
Stopping is improved thanks to a Rolloface x iAcro 8-pot setup with 380 mm rotors. Power from the 2.0 TFSI also helps improve the go side of the equation, thanks to GIAC software, INJEN intake, 034 Motorsport high flow cat, AWE B8 Touring Edition exhaust and downpipes and finally an AWE front-mounted performance intercooler. The underhood appearance is further improved with a Porsche 911 expansion tank cap, Forge washer fluid reservoir cap and Audi R8 oil cap.
The most noticeable change to the outside of Rilber’s Avant is a fresh set of alloys that have replaced the now gone pink mesh design. This new look specifically comes from a set of 20×11.5 AvantGarde F522-SPEC3 wheels manufactured with a brushed polished center and lip with Tiffany inner. Those new wheels are shod in Toyo Proxes T1R tires in 275 30 20 sizing.
The extensive mods list continues on the inside. Most notable and lustworthy are a set of Recaro Sportster CS seats skinned with Dynamica suede. Custom carbon fiber beltline trim has been added, and an RS 4 steering wheel in both carbon fiber and Alcantara brings together this pairing. Further details include aluminum RS 5 pedals and AWE Tuning boost gauge.
Had you been at SEMA, you’d have found the RilbertyWalk A4 Avant parked outside. Nearby, Baja trucks drifted around a big open bit of tarmac while many SEMA Show goers watched on. We couldn’t have cared less for the drifting pickups… not while Rilber’s Avant was parked nearby.
