It appears the Volkswagen Group is in disagreement with the American Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) when it comes to the Audi 3.0 TDI. Late yesterday the EPA issued a release suggesting the turbocharged V6 diesel engine was exhibiting behavior suggesting it had a cheater configuration similar to the other 2.0 TDI models caught up in #Dieselgate.
The accusations include several MY2016 Audi models and also the Porsche Cayenne and Volkswagen Touareg. In reaction to that, Volkswagen issued the following statement.
The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) informed Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft on Monday that vehicles with V6 TDI engines had a software function which had not been adequately described in the application process. Volkswagen AG wishes to emphasize that no software has been installed in the 3-liter V6 diesel power units to alter emissions characteristics in a forbidden manner.
Volkswagen will cooperate fully with the EPA clarify this matter in its entirety.
