When it comes to engine technology, aerodynamics, sports wheels, exhaust systems, suspension and brakes ABT is a winning team. The company leads the field with continuous development of intelligent tuning components for road and track use.

The company’s international success is the result of decades of learning in the hard school of international motorsport, in addition to close cooperation with the technological leaders of Audi and Volkswagen.

Founded by Johann Abt 116 years ago as a blacksmiths shop, converting  carriages for the harsh local road conditions in Allgäu, Germany,  the company is still family run to this day by the fourth generation of Abt , with Hans-Jürgen now at the wheel. As the world’s largest tuner of Audi and Volkswagen vehicles the company has expanded worldwide with the recent opening of showrooms in Dubai, Hungary and Poland, plus the founding of ABT ASIA Ltd.

“It is vitally important for our company to be able to adjust to the ever-changing conditions as quickly as possible, or even better to anticipate them”, says Hans-Jürgen Abt.

As a result, the company continues to invest in its own capabilities: the best example being  the highly-modern performance test station, practically unique in Germany, which raises engine development to a new level. The ABT engineers are able to build precision high-performance equipment including ABT turbo chargers and compressors.

ABT also takes ecological and economical changes into account with their ‘down-sizing’ strategy which enables smaller engines to provide the same performance as next sized unit up. This keeps costs down for the customers, and still offers pure enjoyment on the road.

Vehicles and individual components from ABT are characterised by premium quality which means the manufacturers’ warranties are seldom affected, even on used cars.

The quality of the bodywork components is also verified by the pedestrian impact protection tests, which ABT was the first company in the industry to successfully pass.
