After revealing two new RS cars (the 5 and the 3 Sportback) at the Geneva Motor Show, Audi Sport’s boss, Stephan Winkelmann, reasserted that the company is planning to reveal six more RS models by the end of 2018.
Winkelmann did not reveal just which models they would be, but he did say that while some would be old models making a comeback, others will be totally new.
We already know that one of them will be the new RS4 Avant, as pictures of it testing have already been snapped. The new RS4 Avant is expected to have the same 450 hp twin-turbo V6 that’s in the newly revealed RS5.
Speculation also abounds about an RS5 convertible to join the coupe. Meanwhile, Audi Sport has expressed interest in making RS badged SUVs, so an RS Q5 and/or RS Q3 are also likely candidates.
As for the rest of them, it’s anyone’s guess what will gain an R and an S in front of their names. No matter what, though, the result is sure to be exciting.
