Maybe you didn’t notice, but when Audi factory driver and 2012 World Endurance Champion Andre Lotterer raced at Fuji this season, the young driver wore a very special TAG Heuer themed helmet. TAG Heuer is a sponsor of Audi Sport and Japan is Lotterer’s second home, so circumstances all came together to build for one very special charity auction to benefit disaster relief.
The helmet itself is quite different than Lotterer’s more commonly seen black, white and red design. Painted by Koop Kustoms (www.akaihane.jp) It depicts the TAG Heuer logo prominently, as well as artwork of the special edition Gulf Monaco Chronograph. And certainly no coincidence, the winner of the helmet also gets one of these very special watches.
Worth noting for those interested in taking part, details can be found on TAG Heuer Japan’s website and are in Japanese. The auction, no doubt, is also being held in Japan. Bear that in mind if you are bidding from a market other than Japan.
