Fourtitude readers are likely more familiar with Canadian-born Chinese driver Darryl O’Young for his ongoing association with Audi. O’Young is a regular in the Audi R8 LMS, including victory at the Bathurst 12 Hours in 2011 and 2012, as well as an occasional fill-in for the DTM. Word from AutoSport Magazine is that he’s headed for Le Mans and will contest the race in an AF Corse Ferrari.
Specifically, O’Young’s Ferrari 458 Italia will run in GTE Am. He’ll share the car with Piergiuseppe Perrazzini and Lorenzo Case – the first a regular with AF Corse and the second a first-timer at Le Mans. Unlike Case, this won’t be Darryl O’Young’s first run at Le Mans. He competed there back in 2009 at the wheel of a Prospeed Porsche. That was the same year Audi introduced the first R15 TDI and Andre Lotterer debuted in a Kolles-run Audi R10 TDI.
