Campeonato Italiano GT3: Audi Sport Italia Runner-Up in the Championship

In the finale of the Italian GT Championship at Mugello, Audi Sport Italia in a fiercely competitive field made up of eight different marques secured the runner-up’s spot in the manufacturers’ classification. The foundation for this success was laid by the Italian driver duo Andrea Amici and Marco Mapelli in the Audi R8 LMS ultra with victory in race one. The #7 sports car started the second race from pole position. In the end, Amici/Mapelli notched up another podium success in second place. Dindo Capello (I) and Emanuele Zonzini (RSM) in the sister car rounded off the positive result, as the pairing achieved third place in race two.

VLN: New Audi R8 LMS Scores 2nd Place

Podium success for Twin Busch Motorsport in round nine of the VLN Endurance Championship Nürburgring. For the first time, the Audi customer team had fielded a new Audi R8 LMS together with Audi Sport customer racing in order to prepare for the commitments planned for 2016. From position four on the grid, Dennis and Marc Busch together with Marc Basseng advanced to second place.

ASKO South Island Endurance Series: Drivers’ Title in New Zealand

Audi Sport customer racing team International Motorsport clinched an overall drivers’ title during the season finale of the ASKO South Island Endurance Series at Timaru International Motor Raceway in New Zealand. Neil Foster piloted the team’s Audi R8 LMS ultra to fourth place in the one-hour race and won the overall ASKO One Hour Race Series drivers’ title.

British GT Cup: Double Podium in English Finale

Two Audi customer teams achieved podium places in the season finale of the British GT Cup Championship at Oulton Park. In race one, Phil Burgan in the Audi R8 LMS ultra of Team United Autosports took third place. In race two, Adam Wilcox (HUD Motorsports) notched up second place.

DMV GTC: Christoph Dupré in Third Place Twice

Two podium places for Dupré Motorsport: In the season finale of the DMV GTC at the Nürburgring, Christoph Dupré in the Audi R8 LMS ultra claimed third place in class in both races. In the subsequent 60-minute race, Suzanne Weidt together with Martin Konrad in the Audi R8 LMS ultra of Team Spirit Racing took third place in class.

V de V Endurance Series: Audi Customers Achieve One-Two Result

Team AB Sport Auto celebrated a class victory in the V de V Endurance Series with the Audi R8 LMS. Franck Thybaud/Thierry Proust/Maxime Jousse in the 4 Hours of Magny-Cours (F) won the GTV2 class ahead of their brand colleagues Eric van de Vyver/Tiziano Carugati/Claude Terrier (V de V/AB Sport Auto).

VLN: Busch Twins in New Audi R8 LMS

In the penultimate round of the VLN Endurance Championship at the Nürburgring on October 17, Audi Sport customer racing together with Audi customer team Twin Busch Motorsport will be fielding a new Audi R8 LMS. The car will be driven by the twins Dennis and Marc Busch, who most recently celebrated an overall victory in the proven Audi R8 LMS ultra in round eight of the season. They will be backed by Marc Basseng. The Twin Busch Team is already going to use this run to prepare for the commitments in 2016 which are currently in planning. Production of the new Audi R8 LMS has been underway since September 21. Deliveries of the 585-hp sports car to customer teams will commence on October 26.


Audi R8 LMS Cup: New Audi R8 LMS to Fill Grid

From the 2016 season on, the new Audi R8 LMS will be racing in Audi’s first one-make cup in Asia as well. The participants in the overall classification and in the Amateur Cup of the Audi R8 LMS Cup will be relying on the new race car that has been introduced this year. At the same time, the previous race car will be retained as the base for the Masters Cup, a classification for drivers not included in the professional league. “In the new race car, we continue to promote innovation, fielding the latest Audi technology in Asia,” says Rene Koneberg, Director of Audi Sport customer racing Asia. The new race car delivers up to 585 hp, depending on the regulations, and sets standards in terms of active and passive safety.

Racing flair on the Family Day held at Audi’s plant in Brussels: In addition to information and adventure projects of the various departments, the more than 8,000 visitors got to see demonstrations by the Belgian Audi Club Team WRT. The crew of the Audi customer team that won the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring in 2015 demonstrated a pit stop on the Audi R8 LMS ultra.
