We’ve been seeing quite a few camouflaged Audis roaming around the Rhineland this week, so it was only a matter of time until one of them was caught lapping the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife. Late last night, a tip came in from Car Spy News that they’d seen the upcoming RS 4 doing just that, capturing video of the car from two different vantage points on track, and one more time leaving the circuit. As there still isn’t a whole lot of information circulating about the model, let’s take a closer look at the video below.
First filmed going through what we believe to be Adenauer Forest, the RS 4 certainly looks composed, but is unfortunately off-power for the majority of its time on-screen. When power does come back, however, there is no hint of high-rev V8 rumble, substantiating claims that the next-generation car will move to V6 Turbo power, quite possibly utilizing the same lump that will make its way into the R8 in 2018.
Shortly after, the vantage point transitions to the Grüne Hölle where something remarkable happens. In a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment at the 0:18 mark, what appears to be the upcoming TT RS flashes on screen. A few moments later at the 0:22 mark after exiting the frame, our hunch is somewhat confirmed as the little RS’s 5-cylinder wail is cranked to 11 under full throttle. Unfortunately this is really all we get of the TT for now, but based on the note we’ve just heard and photos taken early last month, the new car ought to be a riot.
We hope to learn much, much more about Audi’s upcoming RS models shortly. Keep an eye out for more news in the coming months.
