The DTM series is racing at Hungary’s Hungaroring this weekend, and the cars took to the streets of the nation’s capital this week to celebrate that fact.
Few drivers celebrated more enthusiastically, and more smokily than Audi veteran, Mattias Ekstrom.

Seen above, lighting up the rears on his RS5 DTM, the Swede clearly has no trouble warming up his tires for a race around town.
It was said at the beginning at the season that these tires would have a little less grip to better show off driver skill, but this is ridiculous.
After two weekends and four races, Ekstrom is currently in 6th place in the series, just ahead of Rene Rast, also in an Audi. They are led by Mike Rockenfeller (4th) and Jamie Green (2nd). Lucas Auer, in a Mercedes-AMG C63 DTM tops the driver rankings.
The good news for Ekstrom is that he has had previous successes in Budapest, winning last year’s second race. Better still, it was all Audi that weekend as the brand took the top 6 spots in the first race of the weekend.
The Audi drivers will look to repeat last year’s success this weekend, with another set of wins as Audi fights to get one of its drivers to top the standings and win the championship this year.
