We’ve always wondered what effect (if any) license plate placement had on a vehicle’s cooling system, and thanks to APR, we now have some concrete info.  Using their in-house Mk7 GTI development car, APR’s team ran dyno tests with a european license plate affixed to one of the car’s lower grilles, then with the lower […] More…

Those seasoned Audi enthusiasts out there can tell you that the website AudiFans.com has been around for a long time. In web speak, it’s ancient and its classifieds have long been a great place to find vintage Audi metal. The car in question here, a 2-door Audi 5+5 (as in 5-cylinder and 5-speed) is also ancient, even moreso than AudiFans.com. More…

It used to be that rivet flares were for old Datsun Skylines or Z-cars, though that’s clearly changed over the last few years. Rauh Welt’s use of wide rivet flares on Porsche 911s rocketed the look back into the style spotlight, while firms like Liberty Walk have maybe taken them even more mainstream, at least in terms of modern cars. That all said, we’ve yet to see the look applied to a modern Audi… that was until we laid eyes on this render by the automotive photography website Car-Lifestye.com. More…

There’s no doubt that the new A3 sedan is Audi’s smallest when it comes to North American offerings, yet it looms hugely on the radar of enthusiasts lamenting the long-gone days of the B5 A4/S4 or simply looking for a first step into the Audi brand. As a result, we’re launching our second of three project car series based on the Typ 8V platform. More…

A few weeks ago someone alerted us to a photo posted by a fan on the Audi Deutschland fan page on Facebook. That car showed what looked like a Sepang Blue Audi S3 with a lot of testing equipment affixed. Just what Audi might be testing on the already out-there S3 sedan can there can be little doubt. To our eye, this meant either an S3 plus with the high-output 2.0 TFSI engine or perhaps a sedan version of the RS 3.

No doubt one of the most illustrious Audi enthusiasts and owners out there has to be Jon Olsson. In addition to his celebrity athlete status as professional skier and X-gamer, Olsson’s also had a long list of amazingly built cars with Audi DNA. First came a camo Lamborghini, then a supercharged widebody Audi R8, then a Lambo/Audi V10-powered Radical road going LMP car and finally his RS 6 Avant. That last car served as a chase car in this year’s Gumball Rally, though it was just so good that Jon’s put it under the knife for a much more extensive build.
