It’s fair to say that Audi Sport is enjoying a dominating year in the World Endurance Challenge. An exclamation point was added to that statement following the recent round at Spa where Audi achieved a perfect 1-2-3 result ahead of two rival Toyotas. As a result, Toyota has lodged a formal complaint against Audi’s dominance.

Fourtitude readers are likely more familiar with Canadian-born Chinese driver Darryl O’Young for his ongoing association with Audi. O’Young is a regular in the Audi R8 LMS, including victory at the Bathurst 12 Hours in 2011 and 2012, as well as an occasional fill-in for the DTM. Word from AutoSport Magazine is that he’s headed for Le Mans and will contest the race in an AF Corse Ferrari.

An emotional moment in Sant’Agata Bolognese yesterday at the culmination of the gala celebrating Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary: Walter De Silva’s incredible vehicle made its entry in front of a thousand invitees, the Head of Design for the Volkswagen Group’s homage to celebrating the House of the Raging Bull’s half century. “I am very attached to this Italian brand, being an Italian myself. I wanted to pay homage to and think up a vehicle to underline the fact that Lamborghinis have always been made with passion, and with the heart more than the head,” said an emotional De Silva.
