The firm first came onto our radar with their tailoring of the current-gen RS 6 Avant, and they continue to impress us with every Facebook post since. Depending on who you ask, cars with automated or piloted driving is either a hot new technology that’s either just down the road, or perhaps already arrived. Google made big news when it sent out a group of driverless Toyota Prii in a grand experiment and plans oval-shaped controlless cars in just a few short years, while Audi and partners at the Volkswagen Group and Stanford University have been tackling places like Pike’s Peak with a driverless TT. Now, it seems there’s a Silicon Valley-based startup named Cruise who aims to beat them to the punch with their new bolt-on automated driving unit currently tailored specifically for certain Audi vehicles.
