Carbon fiber as interior decorative inlay dates back to the B4/C4 era at Audi. And, while often though of as a very modern material, the overall look of carbon fiber trim hasn’t changed much over several generations of Audi. In the meantime, the carbon fiber experts at OCarbon have been taking bolder liberties with the material. Up until now we’ve seen W weave, red-flecked weave and gold-flecked wave trims from OCarbon.

Earlier this week we reported on an interesting tailored exterior look for the S6. Essentially, the team at Neidfaktor in Hamburg, Germany made a custom carbon fiber segment for the framed off lower portion of the fascia to the Audi S6. Studio shots of the front bumper component on which it was fitted were posted to the firm’s Facebook fan page and we ran with the story from there. More…

There seems to be a growing trend in the German Audi aftermarket and one that seems to follow in the vein of Audi Exclusive. While many traditional tuners have focused on under hood or under chassis modifications, some new firms are instead offering up OEM-like quality in augmenting modern Audis or tailoring them even more fully to an owner’s specific aesthetic.

When it comes to the Audi RS 7, I plead the 5th. I refuse to recount who’s driving or the exact state (other than heady euphoria) in which we’re driving, somewhere near the California/Nevada border. I refuse to reveal any of these details on the grounds they may incriminate my co-driver or me as we blast down a lonely stretch of long and straight tarmac at 140 mph while tucked behind a second grey RS 7.
