At the GT Asia finale in Macau, Audi had two reasons to rejoice. Factory driver Edoardo Mortara celebrated his fifth consecutive victory on the challenging city street circuit with his victory in the GT Cup. Following two successes in Formula 3, after 2011 and 2012, this marked the DTM driver’s third triumph in succession at the wheel of an Audi R8 against fierce competitors. A week before, Mortara had prevailed in an internal battle of the brand on winning the finale of the Audi R8 LMS Cup as a guest entrant. In addition to the single success in the Macau GT Cup, Audi celebrated a Championship decision. In the GT Asia, Team ‘Audi R8 LMS Cup’ won the team classification for the first time. This season, the Audi customer race sports car has already won five titles worldwide plus the team classifications in the ADAC GT Masters and now in the GT Asia.
