New Audi Rides for FC Bayern

Players and coaches of FC Bayern München are on the road again with Audi this season. Today, the squad of licensed players received its new official cars at Audi in Neuburg. In addition to an Audi driving experience, four soccer players got to enjoy some fast laps as passengers of Audi drivers Tom Kristensen and Markus Winkelhock.

At the beginning of the 2015 motorsport season Phoenix Racing is bringing an excellent second place home from Australia. In the Audi R8 LMS ultra Laurens Vanthoor (B), Markus Winkelhock (D) and Marco Mapelli (I) only had to admit defeat by a razor-thin margin of two seconds in the twelve-hour race at Bathurst. Audi with Second 24 Hour Victory in Seven Days Thanks to Nurburgring Win

Audi has won the Nürburgring 24 Hours exactly one week following the brand’s 13th success in the Le Mans 24 Hours. Phoenix Racing with the Audi R8 LMS ultra celebrated a hard-fought victory in its home round in the Eifel. Ernst Moser’s squad had previously taken the honors in the race through the ‘Green Hell’ with Audi’s GT3 sports car in 2012. With 159 laps the R8 LMS ultra set a new distance record this year. For the first time ever, a Nürburgring winner covered more than 4,000 kilometers – the successful Audi squad completing exactly 4,035.102 kilometers. More…

Q&A: Markus Winkelhock on Victory in Daytona

We’ve just returned to our hotel in Daytona Beach and are downloading all of the content we captured during the race. And, while we’d like to lead with some great photos and video or basic news, we’ve decided to instead lead with a post-race interview with Audi driver Markus Winkelhock. Audi was declared the winner somewhat controversially when a ruling was made by IMSA following a mixup between the Ferrari that Winkelhock was battling for the lead. While we could describe the situation more thoroughly, we figure we’ll leave that up to Markus Winkelhock who we were lucky enough to catch up and chat with as he exited the podium with his Flying Lizard teammates.
