The Audi brand was prominently represented by its customers at the press conference for the Nürburgring 24 Hours on Tuesday. Last year’s winner Markus Winkelhock presented himself in Cologne with the Audi R8 LMS ultra of Team G-Drive Racing by Phoenix. Johannes Stuck was on location as well with the race car he will be driving on May 19 and 20 at the 41st running of the race. An Audi RS 6 Avant complemented the line-up. The high-performance model is part of the fleet of official cars, which quattro GmbH is making available to the organizer, ADAC Nordrhein, on the race weekend. Phoenix Racing will put two Audi R8 LMS ultra cars sporting the elegant black-white design of its new partner G-Drive on the grid at the Nürburgring 24 Hours held over the Pentecost weekend (17 to 20 May). Ernst Moser’s team is aiming to repeat last year’s victory in partnership with G-Drive fuel, the premium brand of the Russian oil company Gazprom Neft, and Audi Sport customer racing. Phoenix is using the VLN Endurance Championship races to prepare for the classic event in the “Green Hell”.

It’s not every day that we run a story about a bright yellow Lamborghini Aventador, but today we have two as we try to identify what you see here following the launch of the 50th Anniversario special edition at AutoShanghai. Though similar in color, the Nurburgring test car is significantly different in the details from the Chinese showcar and our spy photographer sources suggest this might be an early look at an upcoming SV model.
