Direct cooperation between man and machine: At its main plant in Ingolstadt, Audi has for the first time deployed a robot that works “hand-in-hand” with humans – without a safety barrier and ideally adapted to the employees’ working cycles. It is the first human-robot cooperation at the Volkswagen Group to be applied in final assembly. The Volkswagen Group will invest a total of EUR 85.6 billion in new models, innovative technologies and its global presence in its Automotive Division over the coming five years. Around two-thirds of the total investment amount will flow into increasingly efficient vehicles, drives and more environmentally friendly production. This is the result of the Group’s investment planning for 2015 to 2019 discussed by the Supervisory Board of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft at its meeting on Friday. “We will continue to invest in the future to become the leading automotive group in both ecological and economic terms – with the best and most sustainable products”, said Prof. Dr. Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft, in Wolfsburg. “Development costs will remain high in the future as a result of high innovation pressure and increasing demands on the automotive industry from CO2 legislation. As of today, the new generation of the Audi TT Roadster* is driving off the assembly lines at Audi Hungaria. The official starting signal was given by Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, in the presence of numerous politicians and businesspeople including Hungary’s Prime Minister, Viktor Orbán, and the Mayor of Győr, Zsolt Borkai. Audi Hungaria: 100,000th Car Leaves Production Line at New Plant

100,000 cars built since the start of production at the new Audi Hungaria car plant: The anniversary model, an Audi S3 Sedan* in glacier white, was driven off the production line today. The model, equipped with a 2.0-liter TFSI engine built at the Győr engine plant and with a red interior design, is destined for the United States. AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft. has been producing the Audi A3 Sedan and A3 Cabriolet since June of last year, and added the new generation of the Audi TT to its portfolio just a few weeks ago. In response to high demand worldwide for these models, the Company introduced a third shift in its automotive manufacturing operations in August.
