Officially, the Worthersee tour begins next week. This enthusiast exposition in Austria is the largest of its kind and that’s when you’ll see a huge mass of attendees and an official presence by Audi and some of its Volkswagen Group brandmates. The week before… it’s more laid back and a time for the serious connoisseurs to roll into town without all of the burnouts and craziness that make up the actual show week. While we’ll have feet on the ground next week, we’ve enlisted a few of our friends who are veterans of the event to help tell the story of this pre-week.

Johnny Petrina stands just two steps the APR Project Reunion TT RS’ 11’oclock. You can’t see his eyes through his dark Oakley sunglasses, but the Alabama tuner’s Director of Operations is peering in the general direction of his other cars – an S4, an S7, an RS 5 and, oh yeah, a $350,000 Audi R8 GRAND-AM race car. The R8 he’s eyeing isn’t the car that just won second place in Lime Rock, because that car and most of the team are three states away in Lime Rock Connecticut. Depending on how you look at it, Johnny may be missing out… but then again maybe not. He’s got some seriously expensive Audi alloy at his fingertips and he’s spending the weekend in Ocean City, Maryland. Yup, it must be H20i. More…
This past weekend we attended Dubs on the Delaware in the Pennsylvania Poconos. Much like the East Coast show scene, Dubs on the Delaware reflects a strong trend of growth and an even stronger move toward European brand diversification. One of our favorite summer enthusiast events, DotD isn’t just about ‘dubs’ or Volkswagens. Audi is a an ever-growing component… and so too are others like BMW and Porsche. More…
With a venue located in Vermont, New England’s Wolfsgart show was a bit off of our radar . Billed mainly as an air-cooled VW and Porsche event, we wondered just how necessary it was to include on our summer show schedule. Now we look over the photo galleries and coverage over on Audiworld, and we’re second-guessing our choice. The show was actually open to all types of German cars, and that’s exactly what turned up.

Over a span of seven years, Cult Classic has grown by leaps and bounds but the same laid back, family friendly car atmosphere has remained. There are no scantily clad “models”, no drunken fools ruining it for everyone (in fact, no alcohol is allowed), and there’s no dubstep reverberating everywhere just in case that’s not your speed. Driving into Helen, GA for Southern Wörthersee is always a rush. It’s an event that you look forward to months prior. Many preparations go into the show, not only by those who organize and sponsor the event, but also by those who choose to attend. It’s a time to add all those final touches to your ride before showing it off. Whichever route you take into Helen, you are sure to meet up with others making the same trek. Caravans are established or added-to, everyone anxious to band together with other enthusiasts. All gender, age and social stratospheres forgotten, this is a time to focus on letting go, having a great time, and enjoying the diverse company of others in attendance. More…
For years now I’ve had the Wörthersee Treffen in Reifnitz, Austria on my bucket list of shows I’ve wanted to attend. I’ve seen the photos, watched the videos and heard all the stories. So I finally bit the bullet and headed over to Austria to see what this show was all about.

Castle Combe in the West Country of England was the venue last month for the 2011 Audi Driver International extravaganza. It was an outdoor celebration of all things Audi, brave considering the time of year, but the weather gods smiled on the four-ringed circus and a great time was had by all who attended. As [...] More…
Like a finely cut stone, there are many facets of the Audi enthusiast world. While some owners may prefer to live their life lap by lap on a closed course, others may prefer the soft grass of a concours or to talk tire experience over a café latte parked at a fill-in-the-location Cars and Coffee. Scheduled as it was in conflict with the end of days, you might have expected this year’s Carlisle event to be a bust, however clear weather meant anything but. Whether butted up against the Rapture on the calendar or not, Carlisle always marks the beginning of the summer show season for Audi enthusiasts on the [...] More…
One of the best facets of the summer season for many Audi owners is the sheer number of shows, events and get-togethers where like-minded enthusiasts can congregate and talk shop. Throughout the summer season we’ve attended many such events and have had the pleasure of doing so in our Audi Exclusive Suzuka Grey 2010 S4. [...] More…
