Audi is giving the RS5 a mild nip and tuck for 2021. That means a new grille and an improved infotainment system.
The grille is lower and fatter than the previous model and the fenders bulge 15 mm farther than the standard A5. Together these contribute to a lower, wider stance that Audi hopes will make the RS5 look even meaner.
With the 2021 model, Audi is also launching two special “Launch Editions.” These are the Ascari Launch Edition and the Black Optic Launch Edition.
Just 125 Ascaris will be sold in the US (25 Coupe, 100 Sportback) and these will be painted in Ascari Blue, will feature blue brake calipers, ceramic front brakes, 20” wheels, aluminum-style trim, RS sport suspension, and more.
Audi will 425 Black Optic Launch Editions in the US. These feature 20” wheels with a black high-gloss finish, black badging, a black roof, high-gloss black trim on the outside, and a whole lot more black stuff all over.
Inside, the 2021 RS5 gets a 10.1-inch infotainment screen using Audi’s latest MIB 3 operating system. This, says Audi, will offer drivers a more connected driving experience while offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a special RS display.
Prices start at $75,100. The Ascari edition costs $95,600 while the Black Optic edition starts at $87,400.
