Jon Olsson is known not only for his love of skiing but also for his love of cars. In celebration of that, he has collaborated with Audi Sweden and has created the design of the limited edition Jon Olsson Camo Edition. For many years, camouflage has become one of Jon’s signatures. He has previously driven both a Lamborghini, an Audi R8 and most recently an Audi RS 6 Avant adorned with camoflauge. Even his house in Marbella is specially designed in the same pattern. Faced with the mission to create the limited edition Audi A4 Avant Camo Edition, Jon admits that he probably considered over 100 different versions before he decided upon this.
“I have had many signature products throughout the year, but having your own Jon Olsson Camo Edition, there is nothing that I could have dreamed of 20 years ago when I sat in the backseat of the family car and saw the Alpine squad members drive past in their quattro cars.”
Audi has collaborated with Jon Olsson since 2012 when Audi became partner to the Jon Olsson Invitational ski event. This year the race will take place April 11-12 in Åre. The collaboration with Jon Olsson is a part of the larger concept of “Land of quattro” where Audi markets its quattro four-wheel drive cars.
The launch campaign for Jon Olsson Camo Edition includes the Åkestam Holst advertising agency commissioned to paint an entire concrete wall in the same pattern as the car with the help of a graffiti artist.
“It became incredibly effective and gave an extra dimension to the campaign”, says Nils Simonsson, marketing manager for Audi Sweden. Jon is hugely creative and working with him is a perfect complement to the Alpine sponsorship that we can not activate during this period while competing in Russia.
The Jon Olsson Camo Edition is limited to to just 50 examples and is available for purchase at the Audi dealers in Sweden. The car is equipped with, among other things, a specially designed roof box, winter tires on 19 ” Shark Black wheels, S line exterior package, sports suspension, sports seats, multifunction steering wheel, Audi sound system and xenon headlights. The Jon Olsson Camo Edition is based on an Audi A4 Avant 2.0 TDI quattro 177 hp and the price is 399.900 kr.
