Proving once and for all that not all clickbait is bad, Autotrader has put together a list of the cars it thinks are best for dogs. And joy of joys the Q5 has made the list!
According to Dogtrader, a website dedicated to dogs and the cars that best suit them set up by Autotrader, entry onto the ten best list meant satisfying a lot of conditions, but six big ones in particular.
The option of leather seats (for durability), tinted windows (to reduce heat), a level cargo (for comfort), a low cargo area (for easier entry and exit), rear air vents (for comfort), and cargo area tie-downs (to keep crates secure) were all deemed crucial.
The Q5 was determined to be a “great compromise between a full-size SUV and a subcompact,” according to Autotrader. “Leather seating is standard and Audi has some decent pet accessories like all-weather floor mats, a protective rear seat cover and dog harnesses in a variety of sizes to keep your pet safe. The Q5 is also a lot of fun to drive.”
Which we couldn’t agree with more! And although the same could all be said about the RS6, it may be slightly too fun to drive. Cleaning up dog vomit is never fun.
Other entries on the list include the Crysler Pacifica, the Honda Fit, the Wrangler, the Outback, the Volvo V60, and more.
